Quant Interest Group (Leadership | CO-CURRICULAR)(Apr - June, 2024 - 2025)

Building on my achievements with DECA and my passion for computer science, I sought to combine these two interests by co-founding the Quant Interest Group at SAS, where I also serve as co-president. Our group specializes in three main areas: computer science, economics, and data science. While my fellow co-presidents handle the computer science and economics sections, I am responsible for teaching the data science component. This platform allows us to demonstrate how quantitative professionals use coding, mathematics, data science, and economics to make decisions that significantly impact the world. In our first lesson, we introduced the Black-Scholes-Merton (BSM) equation and its role in quantitative finance, laying the foundation for deeper exploration into the intersection of these fields. Leading the data science portion of our group has enabled me to integrate my interests and guide others in understanding the powerful applications of quantitative analysis.
